Gerhard Schulz

Gerhard SchulzGerhard Schulz, violin, was born in Austria and studied with Franz Samohyl in Vienna, with Sándor Végh in Düsseldorf and with Shmuel Ashkenasi in the USA. After playing with various chamber music ensembles, Gerhard Schulz was a member of the Alban Berg Quartett from 1978 – 2008, with which he also taught chamber music at the Musikhochschule Köln since 1993. Since 1980 Gerhard Schulz is a Professor of Violin at the Musikuniversität in Vienna. Gerhard Schulz now is a founding member of the Waldstein Ensemble.
